As the busy season ramps up, we may find ourselves front and centre in some stressful situations. Here are 3 more tips on preventing conflict: 1. Put everything in writing, and both sign an agreement prior to ordering paint and starting a project. 2. Use you i-phone to take a lot of 'before' pictures of the project, details, paint codes, etc. Email them to yourself... 3. Don't get overly involved in colour and sheen selection. You are in the best position to choose a suitable product for the project, but they are in the best position to select the colours and sheen they prefer. Offer practical tips like: 'that yellow may require additional coats for proper coverage, which will increase the budget and time required to complete the job', or 'selecting a flat finish for an ultra-deep base colour on an exterior will lead to premature colour fading'. But try to stay away from recommending colour schemes, etc. The more involved you are, the more accountable you may be if they are not happy with the outcome.
